How good are you at Multi-Tasking?
It’s assumed that women are better at it than men, probably because they take on so many different roles in life. I used to consider that I was good at multi-tasking; not quite so much as I get older, as things don’t seem to get done quite as well as they should. It’s a case of ‘that will have to do’, as I press on to my next job, not concentrating on the job in hand, planning about what lies ahead. Result – nothing is given the time it needs.
I was reminded of this recently when, what was supposed to be my prayer time, my mind kept wandering to other things. Some say these other thoughts are placed on our hearts because God wants us to pray about them. More and more I find myself going off on a tangent.
I’m singing a worship song in my head and suddenly my thoughts have drifted. I forget the words in the song despite the fact the tune is still in my head.
God has given us an amazing brain and it’s up to us to use it wisely and to keep it focused. Do you get frustrated? I most certainly do.
God picked each and every one of us out to be His from the very start. His patience is amazing. He understands our lack of concentration at times, so don’t deny yourself the joy of growing in His love and ‘wallowing’ in a personal relationship with Jesus; the meaning of which is, ‘indulging in an unrestrained way.’
We’re all chosen and included in God’s original plan of salvation. It’s our choice whether to accept that.
If you haven’t thought about it before, do you really want to miss out on the joy that can be yours?
‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
