A different way of doing “church”

A light bulb moment!

Do you get excited when that happens? I do.

Something you have known and heard about for a long time suddenly becomes reality.  You’re in a different situation, venue, on new territory, causing you to view things differently.

I’ve, been invited to dine at ‘the kings table’!

Wow! How come?

I’m just ordinary; nothing very special about me; certainly not worthy to dine with the king.

Let’s see;
I’ll need a new dress, shoes, a handbag to match, and a hat!!!!
Dressed well, he’ll believe I’m one of the elite. I might even find some bling to complete the look. I must create a good impression. I’m not altogether the person he thinks I am. I’ve certainly been seen in places and done and said things in the past that I’d rather he didn’t know about.

Finally, ‘D’ day!

I’m in all my finery; nervous, but it’ll be fine. I’ve got all my flaws well and truly hidden. O-oh, the king is coming to speak with me personally. What am I going to say to him?

I needn’t have worried!  He knew my name and said he’d heard all about me.  That got me worrying again! He told me how delighted he was I had chosen to accept his invitation to dine with him.  He’d been looking forward to meeting me and becoming close friends.  We could spend more time together getting to know each other.

I couldn’t believe my ears.  Phew I’ve got away with everything and patted myself on the back.  Well done Lynda!

As he moved on, he turned back saying, “By the way, next time come just as you are.  You don’t need to dress up or worry about your past.  To me you are very special. I see no faults and will love you for yourself.”

How did he know so much about me?

Why choose to ignore all my misdemeanours?

The kings name? ‘JESUS’

And the table? ‘HIS TABLE OF GRACE’
