The Almazarock de Mazarrón Association, together with Culture Rock de Totana, will pay tribute to the legendary Woodstock music and art festival. The event will take place on June 12, at 7:30 p.m., in the CIME building (former headquarters of the Popular University).
In the event, which has the collaboration of the Department of Culture, a documentary with photographs and videos of this festival will be screened, which in August 1969 managed to displace half a million people to a farm in New York, and marked a whole generation, both musically and culturally. The event on this important festival in the history of Rock will be presented by the speakers Marcos Dourado and Ángel Reinón. Places are limited to 50 people and registration can be done through the website www.almazarock.org.
Alberto Martínez, a member of Almazarock, expressed that “this is an event that took place in Totana in 2019 promoted by Culture Rock and obtained great success, hence the idea of bringing it to Mazarrón”. Likewise, Marcos Dourado, member of Culture Rock Totana and speaker at the event, explained that “the documentary apart from focusing on Woodstock, recreates many of the events of 1969 both before and after the festival”, and encouraged “all people to view it , since they will be pleasantly surprised, in addition the presentation has a poetic and cultural touch that nobody expects ”.
Ginés Campillo, Councillor for Culture, commented that “Almazarock has prepared several proposals for this summer, and this is one of them. I’m sure it will be a great afternoon and the people who come will enjoy the activity ”. In addition, the mayor stated that “soon will be announced new events in collaboration with Almazarock since the City Council is a pleasure to collaborate with this type of association in the municipality.”
