The April competition for the Straight Down The Middle Golf Society was held at Hacienda del Riquelme on what was another day typical of this spring. There was some question as to whether we would be going ahead because of all the rain leading up to the day, but we were assured by the management that the course was perfectly playable. 25 players arrived at the course looking forward to a different challenge, as many of the players had not played the course before, or had not played it recently. We were greeted by an absolutely beautifully laid out course that played well despite the greens not being in the best condition. Everything was going well until the latter stages of the round when we were completely soaked by a thunderstorm. Nonetheless some good scores were recorded and the results were as follows:

Winner – Trevor Hill
Runner-up – Phil Markwell
