The good weather is here at last
Our game for May was played on the 29th at the testing course of Altorreal Golf, near Murcia. The sky was a little overcast at first, but the sun soon came out and conditions were ideal.
There were 22 players doing battle, playing to the Stableford rules of scoring. The greens and course were in superb condition presenting a serious challenge to all.

There was a two way tie for first place between Steve Carter and Mike Renshaw both on 37 points, so rather than select an outright winner on countback, the win was shared. Mike’s steady driving ‘straight down the middle,’ proved a key feature of his game.
In third place on 33 points was David Hemming.
Nearest the Pin on the 8th was won by Jim Niblo and on the 17th by Peter Williams.

Our sincere thanks go to the course staff. The organisation was outstanding and our thanks go as usual to Jim Niblo and Geoff Sharp for their hard work. After some liquid refreshment the prizes were awarded, tales were told and we all look forward to our next outing.
Our June game was held at Hacienda del Alamo on the 26th.
Guests are always welcome and anyone interested in joining the ‘Straight Down the Middle Golf Society’ should contact Geoff Sharp on hatters45@outlook.com
