Straight Down The Middle – Golf Society
Venue: Aguillon Golf Course
Date: November 27th
It was a beautiful sunny day with a strong breeze. The course was in great condition but the greens had recently been reseeded and dressed with sand. This was reflected in a reduced green fee on the day. There was a good turnout with 22 players.
The scoring format was Stableford Full Handicaps and the Overall Winner with an outstanding score of 39 points was Peter Smithson. In second place with 38 points was Glen Jicholson and in third place with 32 points was Mark Smith.
Nearest the Pin winner on hole 3 was Mark Smith and on hole 14 Howard Lee won with a sparkling shot.
Scoring was difficult on this challenging course, especially as the greens were unpredictable. Well done to all; there were some great golfing performances.
After some liquid refreshment in the clubhouse the prize giving commenced.
The next golf match will have been held at Torre Pacheco on December 11th and a Menu del Dia will have been included free for members.
