Hello everyone

Yes, I’m optimistic that more than one person is reading this article! That being the case, I would like to thank all you lovely people who attended our Annual Garden Party last month. It was all going so well, then we had the storm – thunder, lightning and RAIN! Okay, the animals were not going along in pairs, but we would not have been surprised if they had. We still managed to enjoy ourselves. Once more our gratitude goes to both the Ukulele Sunshine Band and Harlequin Rock Choir for providing the entertainment.  We are pleased that both groups have agreed to return next June. Thank you Margaret for organising the event, definitely – no small feat and to all our volunteer helpers. We couldn’t have done it without you. God bless you all.

There is a phrase being used more often these days, which doesn’t make any sense to me. The words are ‘TO DIE FOR’!  Over the past few days on television, it has been used to describe:

A view from a holiday home, A lady’s outfit, A new car, Even a cake!

Most people would not consider dying for anything, certainly nothing as trivial as these. When we watch the news and realise how many terrible events are occurring around the world; the wars, famines, droughts and poverty, then maybe the more appropriate words we should be using are ‘TO LIVE FOR’!

Let us be grateful for everything we have and recognise that a person once said that ‘WE WERE TO DIE FOR’ and meant it! Yes, Jesus considered each of us that important and actually did ‘DIE FOR US’.
That is the reason we meet together in worship each Sunday morning; to give thanks and appreciate our brothers and sisters in Christ.

A very warm welcome awaits you all if you wish to join us.

We now also have Community Coffee Mornings on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month from 10am-12.30pm. The aim is for everyone to spend a while enjoying a friendly chat, refreshments, which include homemade cakes and some company. (No sermons!) You are all welcome.
