Mojácar

www.mojacar.es

Tel 950 615 025 – Wed Market

Mojácar came alive for another year during Semana Santa with processions, some full of joy, some in silence and some lit with candles. There were painting exhibitions, competitions and a 10km running trial, half marathon for those on roller skates and a 5km run for children. The sun was shining for all the events and the area was full of residents and holidaymakers. Cafés, restaurants and bars were buzzing and there was a feeling of happiness in the air.

If you didn’t manage to join in with any of these, make a note in your diary for at least one of the popular events that are on the calendar for 2023.

Dates for your Diary

May. Mojácar celebrates San Isidro on a Sunday in mid-Maywith a procession of floats and vans, decorated with flowers and accompanied by music, followed by cars, vans and motorcycles. The procession leaves from the bottom of Mojácar Pueblo and arrives in Sopalmo, a small hamlet in the hills. There is an awful lot of horn beeping, so you may want to take your earplugs! People spend the day in the country having lunch with friends and families.  At the time of going to print the date was yet to be confirmed but keep an eye on our blog and FB page for the date and the programme. We will post it as soon as we have confirmation.

Friday 20th May. Come and join the Hippie Peace and Love Party in aid of Vera & District Lions at Yemaya, Mojácar Playa. Live music from Glam Slam and a 60´s and 70´s Disco. 5€ From 6.30pm
