Aqualia’s XVII Children’s Drawing Competition
Students of 3rd and 4th Primary Schools of Mazarrón and 15 other municipalities in Murcia are asked to participate. Aqualia invites children to become researchers, to find out where the water they consume comes from every day and the destination it has after its use. At www.investigadoresdelagua.com students will find all the necessary information, solving the clues to discover the truth about the complete water cycle.
 
Those who wish to participate have until March 22nd to design and present their creations. There will be 10 individual prizes of Samsung 7” Tablet, 250 prizes of a smart watch and one prize for a school, of a 1,000€ voucher for educational material. The name of the winners will be published, from April 15th, through the Aqualia website www.aqualia.com, on the contest website, at all Aqualia offices and through the Twitter account @DMA contest.

‘2.19’ Art Exhibition – (until 23rd March)
Ángel Mateo Charris exhibits in Mazarrón Town Hall. His exhibition offers an unprecedented collection of oil paintings, acrylics and collages created especially for the occasion. His work has an international projection as evidenced by the recent exhibition ‘African Suite’ exhibited in 2018 in The Ivory Coast. Angel is also a well-known illustrator and recently, the publisher Edelvives published ‘Death in Venice’ by Thomas Mann with illustrations by Angel.

It is estimated that more than 2,000 people will parade through the streets in three parades. Patricio Sánchez encourages the Mazarrón residents and visitors to go out into the street and enjoy this spectacular Carnival. He also thanked the work that for many months has been carried out by the different clubs of the Mazarrón Carnival

Saturday 2nd March – the children’s parade will take place at 5pm, with the general parade taking place on Sunday March 3rd, also at 5pm.

Sunday 10th March – the programme will close with the parade of visiting clubs and winning local clubs at 5pm.

La Ruta De La Tapa for Fiestas San José in Puerto de Mazarrón 15th – 24th March
16 venues will participate offering a tapa with beer, wine or soft drink for 2.50€. Registration cards can be obtained from participating venues, Department of Celebrations on the second floor of Mazarrón Ayuntamiento or email festejos@mazarron.es

The Popular University of Mazarrón Courses
The training period will end on May 31st. There will be more than 40 new courses divided into five areas with discounts of 15% for large and retired families and 20% for unemployed.

The areas are: IT and business, languages, education, creativity and well-being and new features included this year are courses on parental control and social networks, computer science for children, robotics and programming or art workshop among others. The extension of the training in districts is maintained, specifically in Camposol with Spanish courses for foreigners.

New Training Courses
There are a number of free courses and workshops from now until November. The Centre for Municipal Employment Initiatives (CIME) of Mazarrón has published a new training offer for free courses. There are 19 free courses and workshops to acquire knowledge related to different professional sectors mainly related to the economy of the municipality, as well as first aid or help and guidance in the search for employment.
