Corvera the Region of Murcia Airport – RMU

The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, attended the inauguration of Juan de la Cierva International Airport, which was presided over by King Felipe VI and the president of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras and the minister of Development, José Luis Ábalos.

The new airport is only 40 minutes by car from Mazarrón town centre and 25 minutes from Camposol. British residents of Camposol were some of the first travellers to arrive in Corvera on the first flight that landed from East Midlands Airport.

Alicia Jiménez said “It is an infrastructure that will help boost and develop the municipality, bringing new international destinations.” The mayor has indicated that it is expected that in April a bus line will link Mazarrón to the airport.

There are now 12 destinations in UK, Belgium and Ireland which will increase in the second quarter of the year.
