The IX Cartagena Jonda Series brings us a leading figure in song: El Pele, a powerful singer due to the extraordinary quality of his voice and the intensity with which he tackles song. A tireless seeker of new horizons from the purest roots. Accompanied by Niño Seve, possessor of his own sound, full of flamenco. We will make a small part of the recently created Sendero del Agua de Perín, walking between boulevards, rocks and rosemary, getting to know the old water pipes in the area up close. The route is suitable for all ages, but includes some sections that may not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties. URBAN MARKETS. During the months of May and June, Cartagena will have three Alternative Urban Markets in the area of José Hierro Boulevard and Plaza de la Merced. All of them will have a specific theme and will offer various activities for the whole family. The first of these markets was floral-themed and took place on April 30 and May 1. On May 28 and 29, the market will be aimed at gastronomy. Finally, on June 24 and 25, the market dedicated to recycling has been scheduled. All the markets will be open between 12pm and 9pm. Visitors will be able to enjoy different activities for the whole family including children’s workshops, live art, urban dance performances and exhibitions of different craft techniques.

FLAMENCO PERFORMANCE. José Fernández “José del Tomate” was born in Almería into a family of artists. He himself has participated professionally in important events including the International Festival of Cante de las Minas, Suma Flamenca in Madrid and the International Festival of Music and Dance in Granada and has accompanied his father on international tours that have taken him to play in numerous world scenes. He has recorded the album “Plaza Vieja”. His performance in Cartagena is accompanied by the guitar of Cristóbal Heredia and the percussion of Yony Cortés. 15€ 8pm
PAINTING EXHIBITION ‘From Cartagena to Caravaca de la Cruz. A pilgrimage told in watercolour’, shows the viewer a selection of the most significant illustrations from the book ‘Andar pintando’, where the author chronicles his pilgrimage following in the footsteps of the apostle Santiago from the port of Santa Lucía in Cartagena, where tradition says that the apostle set foot for the first time in Hispania, to Caravaca de la Cruz. See it at Museo Teatro Romano until 30 May
INDIANA JONES EXHIBITION. The exhibition entitled ‘In search of lost treasures’ features a hundred original objects, as well as exact replicas of the elements that appear in the films of the saga of the famous archaeologist, which can be seen until the end of September. Among them, you can see the idol of fertility and the sandbag from the beginning of ‘In Search of the Lost Ark’, one of the most iconic works of the entire saga. In addition, the exhibition will feature an original script signed by the actor Harrison Ford, as well as the mythical grails of Indiana Jones, the ark of the covenant and the Sankara stones, among other characteristic elements.
