Patience is a virtue…

We have become accustomed to the concept of ‘everything instant’; be it coffee, ready meals, credit checks or shopping deliveries. To quote a well-known Queen song, “We want it all and we want it now!”

Have we forgotten what it means to wait?

Waiting can be something good and positive or frustrating and negative.

The onset of a ‘gota fria’ for example is not a pleasant thought, neither is the inevitability of war, famine, or invasion. However, being on standby for the guard to set a prisoner free brings more satisfying emotions.

The weeks leading up to Christmas can so easily be taken up with simply that; being the weeks leading up to Christmas. However, historically the month of December has, for the Christian Church, been known as the Season of Advent.

We look back at how the coming of Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah was prophesied with amazing accuracy and look forward to the time when He will return once again to set this fractured world back into place as the good Creation God always intended.

In the meantime, though, we are in a season of waiting.

This year has not turned out like any of us expected, but if we put our trust in the God of the Bible who revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ then, whilst we may not know what the future holds, we can be absolutely sure who holds the future.

If you would like to ask questions or find out more about the Christian faith, then please do get in touch (details below).

If you would like to join one of our online services, (maybe sneak in at the back and take a look), let us know and we will gladly send you the link and password.

Why wait any longer?

Kind regards and every blessing
