Our God wants us to be happy!
There are many out there who may think otherwise, particularly in these times with so much negativity in the world. Many feel that if they become Christians, they will not be able to be happy; that they will have to comply with too many rules and codes of behaviour which will limit their ability to have fun and enjoy a good time, but this is far from reality.
The truth is, that when we become Christians, we free ourselves from the bonds of the world which we often don’t realise we are conforming to, many of which leave us feeling dissatisfied, empty and often bring us sorrow. We are desperately seeking answers to so much that is happening in our lives, but not knowing where to turn.
Being Christians, we love music and very few things bring us more joy than joining in fellowship with other believers to sing praises to our God. He loves to hear our praises. It pleases Him to see His people joining together to worship Him and it fills us with joy and happiness to know that what we are doing is pleasing to a Heavenly Father who loves us.
Being a Christian brings us together as a Church family and being part of that family brings a wonderful sense of unity, freedom and love. We have fellowship with people we can trust and turn to in times of trouble and people we can celebrate with in times of rejoicing, but our greatest joy as Christians is knowing that we have the promise of eternal life when our time on this earth is done. We can be happy in the knowledge that, although we have made many mistakes, done so much wrong, we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and forgives us.
God created us to be happy, but it’s true that when things don’t go well, we don’t always feel happy and we don’t feel like praising Him. We must always have praise in our hearts, because even when circumstances aren’t the best, God is always there for us. He loves us and He wants us to be happy.
Every minute of every day you have an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with your Heavenly Father. If you don’t yet have a relationship with Him, you could put that right, right now. Just take a moment to speak to Him, to seek Him out. He’s waiting to hear from you.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 68 v. 3:-
There is no greater source of happiness than a personal, loving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
He wants to see us happy, smiling, having fun.
“But the righteous will rejoice; they will rejoice before God and they will leap for joy.”
