Bi-lingual Evangelical Church In Fuente Alamo

As I sit down to write this month’s article I have no idea what the situation will be regarding the COVID-19 pandemic by the time you get to read it. The situation is changing day by day and town by town, bringing a lot of uncertainty, fear, frustration and anxiety to many.

Yes these are very trying times, but through all the hardships, I just want to focus on how much good these difficulties have brought out in so many people. I want to share an analogy I came across some time ago which I hope really brings my point home:
You are sittng relaxing with a cup of coffee when someone bumps into your chair, making you spill your drink.
“Why did you spill coffee everywhere?”
“Because someone bumped into my chair!!!!!!!”

Wrong answer. You spilled it because there was coffee in your cup. If you had been holding a cup of tea you would have spilled tea. Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.

When the testing times that life brings along give you a hard knock, (and they will), it’s whatever is inside you that will come out. It’s easy to fake things when times are good, but it’s often when the chips are down that we discover our real selves.

This pandemic is making life tough for many of us, so we have to ask ourselves “What’s in my cup?”
When life gets tough, what spills over? Is it anger, bitterness, harsh words and a rebellious spirit, or is it kindness, peace, gentleness, humility and a willingness to care for others?

Life provides the cup. YOU choose how to fill it!

Today let’s work towards filling our cups with kindness, gentleness and words of encouragement. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy ch. 1 vs. 7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and of a sound mind.”
At the time of writing we are not able to hold our Sunday morning services, but this is subject to change, so please give us a call for an update on the current situation.

Our Sunday morning services are held at Calle Espinar 13, Fuente Alamo.
