If you call He will answer you with the Greatest of Gifts, JESUS
Christmas and New Year celebrations have come to a close, but what about COVID-19? Will time prove these celebrations may have been better left out for one year?
Many have celebrated Christmas, but they have lost the plot? You see it’s never been about ‘family’, it’s always been about JESUS. Granted, He was born into a family, but that’s not the ‘WHY’ He was born.
Millions still don’t get it. I wonder if you are one of them?
Matthew chapter 1 verse 21 says: “That Mary would bring forth a child and call Him Jesus because He will save his people from their sins”.
Luke chapter 2 verses 10-13: The angel told the shepherds “A Saviour has been born. He is Christ the Lord. Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests”.
John chapter 1 verse 29 speaks of John the Baptist seeing Jesus saying “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”
For you, this new year could start with the message of the angel to Mary, the shepherds or John’s message, because Isaiah chapter 53 verse 7 says “He (Jesus) was led like a lamb to the slaughter, the cross where He was despised, afflicted, beaten, crushed for our iniquities (wrong thoughts and attitudes) and pierced for our transgressions (wrong actions etc), but streaming with love from this is the offer to receive His forgiveness and salvation.” Any other ‘salvation’ that deliberately ignores the cross of Christ is useless and not salvation.
Peter the Apostle, Acts 2 verses 38-40 when asked “What must I do to be saved” answered “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9 says “God is patient with you not wanting anyone to perish but for everyone to come to repentance.”
This New Year could start with the miraculous gift of salvation, the ‘resting’ of Jesus’ favour upon you and what a different outlook on life you will have. COVID-19 or any other problems will not destroy the peace and joy that Jesus Christ’s gift of salvation will give you.
Romans chapter 10 verse 13 says “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus will be saved.” If you sincerely want the ‘resting of Jesus’ favour on you’, call on Him in prayer. Don’t delay or leave it another day. You may not have it as many have found out.
May God bless you with His ‘favour’ this 2021.
