Is Christmas Really For You???
I wonder how you feel with Christmas upon us and COVID-19 still rearing its ugly head and causing chaos through sickness, death, isolation and economic loss and heartache for many. Will talking about Christmas, its tinsel and decorations, buying presents and cards, turkeys and stuffing, make any difference with COVID-19’s devastation still hanging over us.
COVID-19 may go eventually, but Christmas will never go; it lives within the hearts of those who have repented, believe and accepted the love of Jesus. This is Christmas; not just the babe in the manger, but the man Jesus who died that we might be forgiven and live in a right relationship with Him eternally.
Isaiah 9 verse 6 “Unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders and he will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.
Isaiah also says; chapter 53 “He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows and aquainted with grief and suffering, like one from whom men hid their faces, he was despised and we esteemed him not.”
Is this the babe of the Christmas that you know? Because this is HIM. Isaiah also says “He was pierced for our sins. He was crushed for our iniquities and the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed.”
Peace has been eroded for many through COVID-19, but it can come again if you put your trust in Jesus; John 3 verse 16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus promises peace; John 14 verse 27 to those who love Him “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled neither be afraid.”
Some may have passed away without believing and accepting Jesus’ death and resurrection as a gift of eternal life which comes through personal repentance, belief and acceptance of Jesus as their Saviour. This Christmas present, the greatest gift anyone can have, began with the birth of the babe in a grotty manger in Bethlehem.
Do you have this eternal relationship with Jesus that brings peace and hope?
May you all have it or want this eternal hope and peace with Jesus Christ this Christmas through 2021 COVID-19 or no COVID-19.
God bless you all.
