We have to begin with a follow-up about a very special fund-raising event, completed by an even more special volunteer.

On Saturday 3rd June 3, PAPS Volunteer, Wendy Hamilton, completed her 10km swim across the Mar Menor in aid of PAPS and the San José Obrero Children’s Orphanage. The swim turned out to be a bit longer as conditions were poor with even the tide against her and she was blown off course. The dreaded jellyfish also made an appearance and Wendy suffered a sting on her neck. However, despite having second thoughts halfway across about the wisdom of this swim, this resolute lady kept swimming strongly and came in to land at La Playa Bar in Los Alcazares, to the loud sound of congratulatory cheers from her many friends and supporters. She raised an amazing 4-figured amount (they are still counting and getting in money pledged) which will be gratefully received by both charities.

We must give thanks too, to the volunteers from the San José Orphanage charity for manning the safety boat that accompanied Wendy on her swim and to Wendy’s husband Paul for his work on the sponsorships.

You can still contribute towards this epic effort by either giving a donation via PayPal: animalesperrosdelsol@hotmail.com (ref. Wendy’s MM Swim), or by emailing us for a sponsorship form.

We are an honest bunch and will ensure that the San José Obrero Orphanage receives their equal share!

Another kind volunteer, Lotta, has organised a Dance & Fitness Charity Event on Saturday 1st July on Los Narejos Beach to raise more money for PAPS.

Beach Dance Fit 9am-10am

Beach Pilates 10.20am-11am

Beach Yoga 11.40am-12.40pm

Friendly doggies are also invited to indulge in Doggie Yoga!!

There will be a picnic throughout the event, so if you like the beach and want a bit of exercise (with or without your furry pal), please drop by to support and have some fun?

If anyone would like to hold a fund-raising event on our behalf, we would be forever thankful.

We are still looking for loving homes for the dogs in our shelter. A sweet family of babies arrived a few weeks ago, approx 3 months old, all looking for good homes. See our FB Page: Support Abandoned Dogs/PAPS in Spain for more photos.

If anyone has a few hours free during the week, why not volunteer with PAPS, or perhaps run a fund-raiser on our behalf? Help is always appreciated. Needless to say, donations are also very welcome to help us to care for the dogs. For information, please email:
