As I have to write this a month in advance to meet the publishing deadlines; although I am writing this at the beginning of February, it will be March when you read it!
I can always remember the English saying about March is that ‘March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb’. This is an obvious reference to the English weather and normally here in Spain by the time March arrives the weather has started to warm up considerably.
What I want to bring your attention to today as I have spoken about the Lion and the Lamb is Jesus being the Lamb of God; the sacrificial Lamb who died on the cross that we might have eternal life. He went to the cross meekly in obedience to His Heavenly Father.
Isaiah 53 tells us this in verses 7 to 9:
He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet He never said a word.
He was led like a Lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
He did not open His mouth.
8 Unjustly condemned,
He was led away.[b]
No-one cared that He died without descendants,
that His life was cut short in midstream.[c]
But He was struck down
for the rebellion of my people.
9 He had done no wrong
and had never deceived anyone.
But He was buried like a criminal;
He was put in a rich man’s grave.
But He has said that He will come again as the Lion of Judah and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
You all have a choice to make because none of us know the hour of the Lord’s return.
The choice is simple – Accept the Lamb or Face the Lion.
God bless you all.
