Gifts of the Spirit
God grants ‘Gifts’ so that we can prepare His holy people.
Were you aware that broken people come to church; not with broken bones, but with broken hearts, homes, dreams and lives? They limp in on fractured faith and if the church operates as it should, they will find healing in the name of Jesus.
A Pastor cares for his flock and teaches his flock to be Gospel bearers and share the good news of the Gospel. The church is the Body of Christ. Within the church some people have gifts to help to heal brokenness. This helps to make the Body of Christ stronger.
In 1 Corinthians 12 an explanation is given of all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Here are just a few:
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge.
The same Spirit gives great faith to another and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing.
It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
