Well all too soon another year has flown by and I do mean flown by. Where does the time go?.
It has been a season of peace and goodwill to all men. The Spanish are waiting to have their Three Kings Celebration and most Brits are wondering how they are going to pay for the festivities and presents and what is there to look forward to in 2020.
January is normally a sad month isn’t it? Christmas is over and holidays are far away on the horizon. Although we in Spain are on holiday every day aren’t we? No I didn’t think so! Well, there is a lot to look forward to. Everyone who is reading this is alive and breathing the air that our gracious merciful God has provided for us.
As it says in John Chapter 1 verse 1:
In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created everything through Him,
and nothing was created except through Him.
4 The Word gave life to everything that was created
and his life brought light to everyone.
5 The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.
As we can see, all that is created is from God and I think it would be good to give something back this year. I am sure that you have all heard about ARK’s or Acts of Random Kindness. Why don’t we all pledge to do at least one ARK a day during the coming year?
Most people make New Year’s Resolutions and let’s be honest most fail! Why not be different this year and go out of your way to help someone or show some kindness without expecting any reward? Believe me you will make someone’s day.
Open a door for someone.
Smile at someone.
Carry some shopping for someone.
Visit a lonely neighbour.
The list is endless. You choose what you want to do and you will be surprised at how easy it is.
