There is a phrase that Christians use every time Good Friday comes and it is this:

“It’s Friday but Sunday’s coming.”

This is when, on Good Friday, we remember that our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the cross so that all our sins past present and future may be forgiven and that we may have eternal life.

We can read about this in all of the Gospels in the Bible, but what is a joyful time for Christians everywhere is the phrase “But Sunday’s coming!”

That is when Jesus was raised from the dead.

Once again we look at the verse from John 3 v 16 & 17 which says.

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave[g] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

Certainly commercialism takes every opportunity to distract us from the true meaning of Easter. The first book of the Bible is Genesis, which tells us what went wrong. The last book is Revelation which tells us how God will put things right, but to put things right He had to pay a price and that was Christ’s crucifixion and that is what Easter is all about.

Thanks to the generosity of the Friday Art Group at Camposol, we have been offered the use of the Social Centre on Good Friday and will now be holding a service starting at 10.30am. Coffee and hot cross buns will be available afterwards and all are welcome.

We will also be having our regular Service on Easter Sunday also starting at 10.30am. Why not join us at the Social Centre on Camposol B?

You can be assured of a very warm welcome at the Olive Branch Christian Fellowship. We share communion each week and are part of the Free Methodist church and have charitable status.
