Just a few minutes from Camposol sector A is OAS (Otto Animal Sanctuary). Juan and Yolanda have rescued a number of horses, donkeys, pigs, dogs, cats, chickens and rabbits, all from dreadful situations.
This animal sanctuary is a legally registered charity and extremely costly to maintain. There are a number of ways which you can help.
Sponsor your favourite resident
If you would like to get more involved with a particular “resident” all you need to do is to agree a monthly amount and set up a direct debit with your bank. This is so much easier for us than trying to collect cash donations. We already have a lady and her family who partially sponsor one of our donkeys “Garci” and another lady and her friend who pay towards our Appaloosa horse, “Colt”. One of our other donkeys “Luna” also has a lovely couple who partially sponsor her too. Let us also not forget the lovely “Hilda” a greyhound that one of our helpers is also sponsoring. We also have four friends who club together every month and give €5 each to help 4 of our chickens.
This month we would like to promote “Quimera”, a striking, young coloured filly.
Quimera.
The lovely Quimera is a young filly with a lovely noble and sociable character. She was bought by a dealer who intended to sell her on but could not find a buyer. He could not afford to give her the attention and care that she needed so was about to offload her to the butcher! Fortunately, Juan and Yolanda were alerted and came to her rescue. As is “the norm” here they had to pay to save her by stumping up the same fee as the abbatoir would have requested but she was saved. Quimera is a cheeky girl and would love a new sponsor or two to get involved with her care and development. Please contact Yolanda for more information.
Athena
is now available for adoption. This beautiful little 3-year-old bitch is in Murcia. She was given up by her owners as they cannot give her the life she deserves. She was very lonely and depressed and craves company. She adores other dogs, cats and children and loves a cuddle! If you cannot give her a home, then please spread the word.
