How was St Valentine’s for you?
Did you receive lots of chocolates and anonymous cards?!

It was just another day of picking up furniture donations and checking bags of bric-a-brac by the volunteers at MAMAS. All this is necessary to raise funds to help you with emergency vet treatment. We have a lovely story for you this month regarding our assistance towards unexpected vet bills.

It started with two young dogs being rescued and taken home by a lovely family. The son of the rescuers decided to call them after characters from his favourite film Toy Story – Woody and Buzz! They were happy boisterous youngsters who soon started to show they were beginning to get stirrings of the wrong kind and it was obvious they needed neutering.  This kind family asked MAMAS for help and we were able to assist towards paying for the operations. The unsociable behaviour soon ceased and now the dogs are cheeky and fun. They also have a home for life which is so important.

This sort of thing is what we enjoy working for; it makes it so worthwhile. The managers work 24/7 with valuable daily assistance from Pat who volunteers every day, although if we had more volunteers she could actually have a day off! This leads nicely into asking you if you or anyone you know would help us with this large shop and its overflowing contents, clothes, bric-a-brac, books, games, small electrical goods, beds and some lovely pieces of furniture to name but a few!

Richard is on Camposol B car park on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm. He can take your donations or arrange to pick up larger items. If you are not keen on venturing out, just ring or email.

The shop continues to open and we are following all the COVID rules laid down for your safety (and ours).

Please take care and remember the mantra ‘hands – face – space’.
We hope to see you soon (very soon – our piggy bank is running very low!!)
