There’s very little to talk about at the moment other than Covid-19! It’s worrying lots of people and even though there is an easing of lockdown, many people are still worried. This has affected the shop takings considerably and we have had to be a little careful with our awards! Even though we are open now there are fewer people coming in.

Having said all that, we hope you are enjoying the relaxing of rules and beginning to enjoy your summer.

We haven’t enough people to be able to do the Tuesday Car Park visit at the moment, but with the lockdown easing we can now collect items from you and deliver any large purchases provided distancing rules are observed.

One animal we helped recently was Ginny who had been abandoned in the countryside. She must have been a working dog as she has had her ears and tail cut back in typical local fashion. Ginny has now had all the necessary medical help including spaying and micro-chip and this lovely natured dog is now looking for a new home where she can spend her remaining years in comfort with a caring family. Please contact us if you feel that you would like to make her part of your family.

We are finding now that working through the summer heat is getting too difficult for us, so for the first time we are going to take a break in August. The shop will close for staff holidays on Friday 7th August. It will re-open on Tuesday 1st September when we also hope to start up the Car Park collection again.

As always MAMAs is desperate for voluntary staff.  At the moment we have two regular members of staff who attend virtually every day, plus some daily volunteers. If you feel that you would like to help us help the animals, please get in touch.

We are here to help you and your pet, so if you need assistance please contact us by calling in the shop, or phone or email us (details shown below). We would prefer it if you did not use Facebook for requests as we are a registered charity and have to account for every penny we spend, so we really need proper written applications for help.
