We went to a new venue for Los Reyes this month. 20 players played New Sierra Golf at Balsicas, a very testing and well maintained 9 hole track.
A society-subsidised fee of 35€ started with a coffee and a well filled toasted bacon sandwich. The entry into New Sierra leaves a lot to be desired. The tree-lined dual carriageway could do with a gardening group’s attention!
Onto the golf:
Division One winner on countback with 32 points was Roger Olorenshaw taking home a JB boxed whiskey and glass set plus a sleeve of Titliest balls. 2nd place went to Gary Ahearne who settled for two sleeves of Callaway balls.
Division Two winner with 35 points was Christine Marshall winning a Gin and glass boxed set plus a sleeve of Titliest balls and a handicap cut. 2nd place went to Phil Leeming on 30 points winning two sleeves of Callaway balls.
Only 2 players won sleeves of Titliest balls for Nearest the Pin. They were Peter Hansford and Graham Booth.
Our next outing is at Valle Del Este on Monday June 14th where for a society-subsidised fee of 45€ members will enjoy a full English breakfast at the Sports Bar before venturing out on the always immaculate course.
New members are always made welcome, and as always we thank our main sponsors Decklid Autos.
