On Monday 14th June, an early start from home meant members had time for an excellent breakfast served up by Karen and her staff at the Sports Bar on the Valle Del Este resort; 24 freshly cooked breakfasts, on time and served in the order of play, got the day off to a good start.
The course itself proved a siren challenge to all players with only 2 playing to society handicaps. The ongoing improvements to the course makes it one to be added to future fixtures. A few members had decided to take advantage of the excellent hotel facilities and made a weekend of it. The high intake of food and alcohol was unfortunately reflected in their scores out on the course!

However, 2 players scored a magnificent 39 points in Division 1. Winning a boxed wine set and a sleeve of Titliest balls on count back was Dave Mitchell from Gerry McRobert who had to settle for 2 sleeves of Callaway balls.
In Division 2, again winning a boxed wine set and sleeve of Titliest balls, was Mark Palmer with 33 points. 2nd place and 2 sleeves of Callaway balls went to Christine Marshall with 26 points.
Our July competition on the 12th was originally booked for Condado, but due to the course unlikely to be open until August we have switched to El Valle with a 10.30am tee time, so it’s 18 holes, shared buggy, SGF insurance, coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, at a society subsidised price of 45€.

Also pleased to say that the society is going from strength to strength with more new members joining recently.
As usual we thank our main sponsor Decklid Autos.
Take care, stay safe.
