Brilliant sunshine, welcomed the 28 members and guests to the excellent course at Hacienda Requelme. Everything about the resort is first class. It is just a pity it took nearly half an hour to get a coffee! You would think knowing they had a Society as well as members and residents using the bar, one overworked bar staff was never going to cope.
On to the golf; what a beautiful setting! Requelme has to be one of the best courses in the area. A good score was on the cards if you could avoid the numerous bunkers. My grandchildren would probably have spent less time playing in them than Roger Olorenshaw! I don’t think he played a single hole that didn’t include a ‘Sandy’.
It’s always interesting to listen to people talk about their game in the bar afterward, but I’m not sure what one guy was on or how many pints he’d sunk, but he was heard to say “Just birdied the 18th off the yellows, drive and a wedge.” – 369mts. I don’t think so buddy!

Paul Davis won Division I with 40pts off 17 and is now off 14.
Division II winner with 38pts was Richard Dixon off 23 and is now off 21.
The winning team was Phil Atkinson, Keith Gifiner, Trevor Nicholadis and Harry Pearson.
Nearest the Pin winners were: Roger Olorenshaw, Gerry McRobert, Neil McFarlane and Dave May.
