With twenty three players including two guests and a tee off time meant we didn’t have to leave until the sun was up for the drive to Aguilon and it had the makings of a good day. There was coffee and a bacon roll to start and plenty of banter.

Next up the golf; it was a Stableford competition and the course looked, as usual, immaculate. Play moved nicely with no hold-ups. The greens were a little fast at times and with a putt that looked to be under-hit would often fly past the hole by four or five foot. As most players have played this course a few times, it’s always better to take two balls just in case you lose one. When you do lose a ball in the ravines it just disappears. I think the snakes live on them!

With a third of the players scoring 30 or more, some decent golf was played, none better than Roger Olorenshaw with 37 points, followed by Harry Pearson with 34 points. Harry won Division 1 and Roger won Division 2
