Although the temperatures have dropped a bit, we have still had some very warm weather for the first half of September. We have seen quite a few visitors to Camposol, with Spain going on the ‘amber list’ and people not having to quarantine upon their return to the UK. This has enabled more people to visit family and friends. The pre-flight antigen tests have certainly kept the Medical Centre next to the Farmacia on Camposol A very busy!
Our volunteers are out regularly trimming the trees, weeding and sweeping the roads in order to keep the area looking smart. Our volunteers also maintain the area outside the Doctors’ Surgery which I am sure you will agree always looks nice. We had a Sunday ‘blitz’ clean planned late in September when we all got together and concentrated on one particular area.
A stone table and seats have been donated by Brian & Angela. This has been placed by the new children’s play area. (A lot of muscle was needed as they are very heavy!!!) The next job is to set these in concrete so they remain a permanent fixture. This will be a nice shaded area for people to sit while their children use the play area.
With the restrictions still in place we have unfortunately had to cancel various events that we had planned. With limited numbers allowed inside still in force, it has not been viable to hold our planned Games Night at the Vista Bar. Also we had other plans in the pipeline for more social events, but we are putting these on hold until the restrictions on numbers inside are lifted.
Our library has remained open throughout the summer and continues to be open every Friday from 10am-12.30pm manned by our volunteers. We are grateful for your contributions of books which ensures a regular supply of new reading material.
