I must first mention the recent death of the Duke of Edinburgh. Such a sad loss to the Queen and her family. I am sure I speak for everyone in offering our sincere condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and her family. Prince Philip will not only be missed by his wife and family, but by a great many people both in the UK and across the world. There was a short Service of Remembrance in the Memorial Park on Camposol A, on the day of the funeral which I will be reporting on further in the next issue.

Moving on to the current situation here on Camposol, it is now over a year since lockdown restrictions started and we have certainly had our ups and downs over the past year. However, there does seem to be some ‘light at the end of the tunnel’. The bars are now open, albeit still with limited numbers and conditions, but at least people can meet up for a meal and a drink. Also at long last the vaccination programme is finally reaching us here on Camposol. Hopefully all of us on Camposol will soon be vaccinated which we hope will eventually lead to restrictions being eased and a more ‘normal’ life being resumed. (We can only hope!)

Our Volunteers are continuing their good work in keeping our area looking smart. The palm troopers are out every week trimming the trees; the weeds which have suddenly sprouted up after the rain are being treated with weed killer by Jock and Brian; Tony has been destroying the processionary caterpillars and Alan continues to keep the Post Room clean and tidy. Rob with other volunteers are manning the Bucket Collection on a Thursday and our loyal group of ladies are manning the Library every Friday. We have received a large number of books donated by various people and we are very grateful to you since this enables us to have a good turnaround of books for people to choose from. The library is open every Friday from 10am-12.30pm.
If you wish to contact us, our email is lospalaciosgardening@icloud.com and we have a post box in the Post Room on Los Palacios under number 915 Los Palaios Gardening Group.
We thank you all for your continued support.
