The Group are working full speed ahead with the upkeep of Los Palacios. You’ll see our volunteers out every Monday morning around the area picking up litter, weeding the parks and flower beds, trimming bushes and generally making the place look good for our influx of summer guests. This is the big push before it gets too hot to work and we take a well earned summer break. Well some do anyway!

The stolen trailer. Troopers weren’t taken!

It is with regret that I have to report that our trailer, with the Palm Trooper decals, has been stolen from the car park across from the Commercial Centre.
This is a major setback for the trimming of palm trees etc, so we have had to outsource some work. You may notice workers trimming the central reservations and landscaped areas, so please be patient. The cuttings may lie on these areas for a few days, but they will be collected and disposed of as soon as possible.

We are always looking for more volunteers. Just one hour of your time each week is a great help. Contact myself or any volunteer on how you can help your local community gardening group.

In last months edition I stated the Library was open from 10.30am to 12.30pm. This of course was incorrect! The Library is open from 9.30am to 12.30pm so apologies from yours truly. The ladies who run this facility would appreciate any donations of jigsaws in particular as the stock is almost depleted.

We have 2 Petanca courts on Los Palacios; one at the top of People’s Park and one on Memorial Park. We meet on the Memorial Park every Thursday from 4pm, so feel free to come and join us. Bring your own picnic and beverage of choice! The next big match was on 30th May with the home team at the Memorial Park playing (and probably beating!) the People’s Park team.

Thank you for all your donations and support, especially on Thursdays at our bucket collections and Fridays at our libraries.

Keep up to date with all happenings and events on our Facebook page, Los Palacios Gardening and Community Group.
