We hope you all had a nice Christmas and were able to celebrate the New Year in style wherever you chose to do so. With the current restrictions still in place with covid, understandably many of you chose to have a quieter Christmas and New Year celebration than you would normally. Let us hope we have reached a turning point with this horrible virus and things improve this year.
As far as our group is concerned there has not been a lot happening on the social side. However, our volunteers have still been going out as usual, cutting the palms, weeding, and clearing up the rubbish. Alan continues cleaning our post room and maintaining the locks. A big thank you to James Cooper for taking down the Christmas decorations.
Our library opened as usual both on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve although it was very quiet. Now we are into the New Year we hope you will visit our library which has a wide range of books to cater for all tastes. We open every Friday from 10 am to 12.30 pm.
Since our Christmas Party, which was a huge success, as you will have seen in last month’s issue, we have not had any social events. We are hoping that in the coming year that we will be able to hold more events.
We held our AGM on 10th January when our current members renewed their membership for the year. We are always happy to welcome new members. If you can spare a few hours during the month and would like to join our group, please contact us via email or our post box. There are many ways you can help, either gardening or manning the library or doing a turn on the bucket collection. You can do as little or as much as suits you.
We thank you all for your continued support.
If you wish to contact us our email is firstname.lastname@example.org and we have a mailbox in the post room on A under number 915.
