Another month on with the situation continuing to improve generally. Our volunteers are out every week cutting the trees back, weeding, clearing the roads and generally maintaining the area. We would also like to thank Mark from CM Constructions for repairing, free of charge, the pavement on the corner opposite the Vista Bar. The paving slabs had lifted badly by tree roots and had become very dangerous.
We would like to thank Debbie and Sara of Cat’s Bar for holding a fundraiser for us on 21st October, raising a total of 372.10€. Thanks to Mia, Pat and Laura for doing the raffle.

We had a ‘Blitz’ clean up on Sunday 7th November in preparation for the Remembrance Service on 11th November. We are very grateful to Sector D Gardening Group who came to assist us. A large group of their volunteers came to lend a hand and together we covered a lot of ground and greatly improved the appearance of both the park and Memorial Garden.

With no restriction on numbers this year there was a very good turnout for the Remembrance Service. Our volunteers were on hand with sanitizers and distributed the Order of Service which had kindly been prepared and donated by The English Funeral Director Tony & Michelle Smith. As well as local residents from all areas the event was attended by the local Mayor of Mazarrón, Gasper Miras, together with other officials from the Council including our local representative Silvana Elisabetta Buxton. The Council donated some plants which was much appreciated.
After the service the Mayor, together with the other officials from the Council and our President, Elaine Wick, attended the official opening of the children’s play area situated opposite the Medical Centre.
We are planning to have our Santa’s Grotto this year. This proved very successful when we held it last. We were unable to do it last year due to COVID restrictions, but if the situation doesn’t change, we should be allowed to hold it on 4th December unless current restrictions change. We will be posting this event together with times nearer the day.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support. If you would like to join our group please contact us by email on lospalaciosgardening@icloud.com
We also have a mailbox in the Post Room on Camposol A under number 915.
