On Monday morning 6th May, 35 players set off for the annual coach trip to Valle de Este, which is always a great day out. On arrival as usual we all enjoyed a cooked breakfast served up by Karen and her team. Then followed the 18 holes of golf, on a lovely course with no mishaps and some good scores recorded.
A Stableford competition was played and the overall winner and Division 1 winner was Eddie Harrison with 38 points and some players calling for a big cut. David Davidson was Division 2 winner on count back with 32 points and Division 3 was won by John Tromans with 34 points.

The weather was quite cloudy when we left Camposol, but that soon changed by our first tee time as the sun came through and with a slight breeze later in the afternoon made for a perfect day.
Back in the bar as we all finished, sandwiches were put on and a cool beer or two rounded off the day. It was then back on the coach with everyone saying ‘if only’:
‘If only’ that drive had not gone out of bounds.
‘If only’ that 6 inch putt had gone in.
‘If only’ I took up another sport.
Some just relaxed with one as usual falling asleep!
The presentation was on 8th May in The Club House following our usual evening meal.
The next competition is on 4th June at Hacienda and will be Captain’s Day.
