As with numerous other sports organisations, Los Amigos Golf Society has had to contend with a reduced programme of events for 2020. However, our Captain’s Day, originally scheduled for June eventually took place on Monday 7th September at Aguilón Golf Resort. Aguilón is an excellent course and our visit in September was no different from what we anticipated. Though rather humid, the weather was sunny with a few clouds and temperatures of 28º Celsius.

For the 36 members playing, the format for the day was a 2/3/4 Waltz; in essence no different from the usual 1/2/3, but it meant all members of the team had their score included in the final team total on at least six occasions.
On arrival, we started the day with a bacon roll and coffee. Post-game there was a hamburger and drink of choice on return to the Club House. The delivery of both the pre-game and post-game food was carried out most efficiently. Our sincere thanks go to all the Aguilón staff.

Dave Baxter, Gordon Neilson
As we progressed around the course, it was not too long before something special happened. Hole 3 is a Par 3 with a prize for Nearest the Pin. Harry Pearson arrived and made it look easy with a Hole in One!! Well done Harry and thank you for the post-game celebratory drink. It all added to a really good day out.
