Monday 5th October was the date of our most recent competition and the venue was El Valle. On arrival at the club house, the weather was bright with sunny skies, but rather cool temperatures and a strong offshore breeze. The wind had a major effect on many players as we progressed around the course, but to ease our woes, we did have some great views of the Mar Menor.
El Valle is a popular course in excellent condition. We would like to thank the ground staff for the quality of the fairways and the greens, which most of us discovered were surprisingly fast.
28 members were in attendance for this event and our format for the day was a Singles Stableford. Bearing in mind the effects of the wind, there was overall some rather good scores in the low to mid-thirties. Conversely, there were some scores which, shall we say, were memorable for the wrong reasons. However, generally speaking, an enjoyable day’s golf at an excellent course.

1st place: with 36 points – Eddie Harrison
2nd place: with 32 points – Dave Wainwright
3rd place: with 30 points – Richard Moss
4th place: with 29 points – Dave Lynch

Our November competition is scheduled for Monday 2nd at Roda. Due to the COVID-19 virus, it has been decided to postpone our Presentation Evenings until the situation improves. Naturally, this decision will be kept under constant review.
