Monday 7th February saw 26 members set off to play at the lovely picturesque course at Aguilon just over the border in Almeria Province. After sampling the coffee and bacon rolls it was time to begin the Singles Stableford Competition. Most players found the course challenging and the sloping greens very difficult to read. Many balls were lost in the ravines on the course and some in the lakes as well.
The winner with 38 points was Sandy Bayne, Harry Pearson 2nd with 32 points and John Girvan 3rd with 31 points.
Nearest the pin prizes for all 5 or the Par 3 holes resulted in prizes for Chris Jowett, (3rd ) Sandy Bayne(8th) , Marshall Shields (12th) Dave Baxter (14th ) and Arthur Anthoney(18th).
All prizes were presented to the winners by our new Captain Dave Lynch at our presentation evening at The Trevi Bar, our new venue for Presentation Evenings, the next day.
