On Monday, 4th February, whilst a fair proportion of our members were enjoying the snow and icy conditions of the UK, 32 of us, including three guests, had to endure the near perfect conditions of Aguilon golf course. However, it must be said, we were fortunate with the weather in so much as had the competition been played the day before we would have encountered very cold and blustery winds.
The competition format for the day was a Texas Scramble and, with the usual excellent course conditions, it augured well for a good day’s golf. To get us on the road, a bacon sandwich and tea or coffee was provided by the restaurant staff which went down very well with all players. All eight teams were evenly matched in terms of handicaps, suggesting a close finish: evidenced by the narrow gap of just 1.2 between first and third teams. Even the team that finished in eighth position did so with a four under par score.
Post-game, the Aguilon restaurant staff did us proud again. Returning to the Club House, a freshly cooked burger and chips was provided for each player, along with a choice of beverage.
Two days later, the Restaurant of the Camposol Club de Golf was again the venue for our Presentation Evening. Our grateful thanks go to the restaurant staff for the provision of an excellent supper meal, following which, the results were announced.

Due to a high number of members unable to attend there was a slightly lower than usual turnout, but that did not detract from a most enjoyable evening.
