The 2019 penultimate competition for Los Amigos Golf Society was a trip to Lorca Golf Resort. With it being November, the weather does come into play, but on this occasion, we struck lucky with a fairly cool but sunny start which warmed up nicely as the day went on.
Including guests, there were 35 players taking part in a Single Stableford competition. The course was in excellent condition and with very little wind to cause any problems, we all tee’d off in anticipation of a good game of golf.
As we played the course it became evident in the later stages there were going to be some quite good scores achieved. Out of all those playing, only eight players returned scores of less than 20 points. The highest score was achieved by Harry Pearson who, in addition to being a big hitter, seemed to have the ‘Midas touch’ and only needed one putt on each green to complete the hole. Not a bad score for a 13 handicapper. Well done everybody!

Our Presentation Evening was held as usual in the Restaurant of the Camposol Golf Club. The supper meal of Gammon Steak or Chicken and Mushroom Pie was excellent and enjoyed by all those attending. A big thank you to the restaurant staff for all their hard work.
