Mazarrón FC’s hopes of gaining promotion to Segunda B Division of the Spanish league for only the second time in their history were dashed in the semi-final of the Tercera Division Play-Offs when, despite holding league Champions Lorca Deportiva to a 0-0 draw they did not proceed to the Final as Lorca had finished higher in the table.

The 2020/21 season for Mazarrón FC will start on the weekend of 17th & 18th October. At the moment we expect the games will initially be played behind closed doors and then later, hopefully, with a limited number of spectators depending on the COVID-19 situation. Obviously this will have a great financial impact on the club’s budget so Mazarrón FC has launched a season ticket for the forthcoming season:
Prices are €50 except for ladies and younger people 16-23 who will pay €35.
Season Ticket holders for the 2019/20 season can request a 10% discount on presentation of their 2019/20 ticket.

The first 100 subscribers will receive, free of charge, an official club scarf.
In the event of some games being played behind closed doors, the Season Tickets are valid for 19 regular league matches, so if it is not possible to use some or all of the tickets, the remaining matches will be valid for the 2021/22 season.

Game live in Alley Palais

If and when fans are allowed to enter with limited capacity, preference will be given to Season Ticket holders. The cards will all be numbered, counting from subscriber number 1 to the last number sold.
Eg: if 300 people are allowed in, subscribers 1-300 will be able to gain admission.

If you wish to support Mazarrón FC at this difficult time you can do so through Los Amigos at pamada.1130@yahoo.co.uk to book a season ticket. Obviously the sooner you do so the better chance you will have of being among the first subscribers. You can also book your season ticket online via the MFC website www.mazarronfc.com Tickets can be collected from Los Amigos or from the Estadio Municipal. Subscribers will be notified as soon as the collection date is available.

The League this year is to be played in a different format. There will be 22 teams divided into two groups of eleven playing each other at home and away. After the end of these 20 games for each team, the top six teams in each group will combine to play each other on a ‘home and away’ basis to determine the promotion place(s); a total of 22 games for each team. The bottom five teams in each group will also combine to play each other home and away to determine the relegation places.

One thing is certain – the playing surface at the Estadio Municipal should be in its best condition for a very long time! There have been many changes behind the scenes with Manager Juanjo and his staff leaving, but we have a more than capable new Manager in Sergio Sanchez who has been successful in the past with Lorca Deportiva.

Departures on the playing side include goalkeeper Ivan Martinez who has joined newly promoted Segunda B team Lorca Deportiva, Miguel Ruiz (El Palmar), Asensio, Cayuela and Adrian Campoy (Lorca FC), Alvaro Gonzales (Mar Menor), Nacho (Muleno) and Jose Da (Bala Azul) and Borja Mir (Silla FC). Dani Morales has surprisingly dropped down a division to join Cieza in the Preferente.

MFC has moved quickly to sign replacements and have currently 18 players on their books with a further two expected signings. The players are:-
Zurdo – Defender
Jaime Vera – Forward
Salva Ballesta – Midfield/Forward
Matallana – Midfield
Monas – Winger
