Mazarrón FC continued to maintain a push for a play-off place with further good results from mid-November to mid-December including two excellent victories against teams in the top three. After a hard fought 1-1 draw in the home game against play-off rivals UCAM Murcia, Mazarrón embarked on a run of four successive victories.
First up was a difficult trip to SFC Minerva and goals from Diego and Choky Aril who was making his first full appearance gave them a 2-1 victory. Mazarrón then travelled to third-placed Real Murcia ‘B’ in a midweek game. After a disappointing first half in which Dani Morales missed a penalty and Murcia opened up a one goal lead, coach Junco made an inspired substitution and change of tactics at half time. Masonic was brought on to replace Diego and joined Dani Morales in a two-pronged strike partnership. The move paid off and Masonic was instrumental in two of the three goals which gave Mazarrón a 3-2 victory. The goals were scored by Ascensio, Moans and Nacho.
Four days later Mazarrón entertained second placed Lorca Deportiva who had lost only once in 15 games. It was a difficult game in which Mazarrón struggled to break down a stubborn Lorca team who played for 80 minutes with ten men after their goalkeeper was sent off for bringing down Musoni on the edge of the penalty area. Despite this Lorca took the lead from the penalty spot early in the second half. Musoni equalised for Mazarrón before Dani Morales scored the winner in the first minute of added time. Then Mazarrón beat Muleno CF 2-0 away from home to move into the play-off places in fourth position.
Mazarrón’s home games are normally played on Sundays. Los Amigos de Mazarrón FC organise a supporters’ coach to most away games at €10 for members with non-members €12. On Sunday 8th December, prior to Mazarron’s home game against Lorca Deportiva, 40 Los Amigos members and friends returned to Bar Velasco Restaurant, Mazarrón for a special pre-match Menu del Dia. We enjoyed a superb four course meal with plenty of wine and beer. A coach was provided, free of charge for Los Amigos members.

Race Night @ The Club House, Camposol C – Saturday 28th March.
The doors will open earlier than usual at 6.30pm with the first race at 7pm. Local singer Sharna Knight will be hosting the night, performing some of her songs at the end of the evening. A buffet supper is included at €8 for Los Amigos members and partners and €10 for other guests. This also will include a Race Card and entry into a prize draw on the night.
Celebrity Golf Day @ Camposol Club de Golf – Monday 30th March.
This has attracted many sporting legends over the years. Confirmed for 2020 are: ex-footballers John Beresford, Tony Currie, Peter Reeves, comedian Lea Roberts and the ever-popular compere and comedian Gary Marshall. The cost is €160 for a team of four to include green fees and a two course lunch. Individual golfers are welcome and will be included in teams of four at a cost of €40 pp. A limited number of buggies will be available on a first come, first served basis for €20 per buggy.
