Now that summer is finally here we are taking a break from our Table Top Stall and we will be back on September 8th. In order for us to continue helping where we are needed, we are in desperate need of any of your unwanted items to sell when we come back in September. Please ring Pauline on 634 308 693 if you have items you would like us to collect.
With the help of Multiopticas at Camposol, we have been collecting unwanted spectacles and we will shortly be visiting the Lions distribution centre at Elche with our latest batch of glasses. Once they have been graded and sorted, they will be sent to various countries where there is the greatest need. Many thanks to all of you who have donated your old glasses.
Once we are back in September, we will be looking forward to some more fun events that will raise funds to enable us to give our help where needed. One of our main projects this year is helping Diabetic children in Spain and raising awareness of Diabetes Types 1 & 2, both of which are becoming a major worldwide problem.
Thank you to all of you who came to our Garden Party at Mazarrón Country Club. We had a fantastic evening and many thanks to Tom & Chris for allowing us the use of their garden and providing a smashing BBQ. We combined the event with our President’s Handover. Our President for this coming year is Tom Harrison with Pauline Bargery as our Vice President. At the same time, we were able to welcome 3 new members; always a pleasure!
Mazarrón Bahia Lions is a small club and we are always on the lookout for new members to come and lend a hand where needed, whether it be on the Table Top Sale, or helping with our various events. There is always something that you can do to help. It is not all work though! We have a great social life and arrange social lunches at various restaurants. We like to try a different restaurant every month, which is a very good way of making new friends whilst trying different foods.

Lions, friends and the general public can avail themselves of the loan of such things as Wheel Chairs, Bath Seats, Walking Frames, Crutches etc. from our Medical Loans Department. All we ask for is a donation on return of the equipment.
