Humanists Commemorate

Remembrance Day

On Monday 11th November a group of Humanists commemorated Remembrance Day at the Parque Miguel Angel Blanco in Mazarrón.
Readings were made by David Allen, Terry Constable, Anne Edwards and Martin Rushton. A wreath was then laid at the commemorative cherry tree, planted by the Humanists of Murcia several years previously. Finally the Last Post was played followed by one minute’s silence.

After the event the participants were invited to coffee at the Copo de Oro café, at the Club’s expense.

Easy Walk

Easy walk

On Friday, 15th November, Jim led the Humanists on an enjoyable ‘easy’ walk up the Barranco de la Mina. We walked along a gently rising track to the abandoned mining village Casas de Dominguez where we explored the old mine shafts and tunnels.

It is a fascinating area and there were wonderful views.  Following the walk we had an excellent meal at restaurant ‘El Meson’.

Join us for walks, discussion groups, gardening group, games’ evenings and lots of lunches.
