So another month has passed which as always brought many highs and lows. On the lows we experienced the ongoing saga of COVID regulations and the vastly differing interpretations thereof.
Having been told directly by the Ayuntamiento, together with the management of Meson Mariano, that all events are illegal, we are still unable to present the magnificent shows we have waiting in the wings including Chess, for whom so many already have tickets!
There are venues who are continuing to hold events stating they have the necessary permission to do so. Others have approached this head on and been advised that events can go ahead, but that both artistes and customers must wear a mask and not drink or eat during performances. We continue to ‘tread water’ and pray the time will soon arrive when we can once again entertain our supporters.
As many people will be aware, we also assist humans in time of need as well as our rescue work for the dogs. On the bright side, this month we were delighted to be donated a beautiful toy by The Food Co, Mazarrón for a child of our choosing. There are many needy families in Aguilas and Lorca and through their visits to our charity shop we come to know them well. Our shop Manager Lucia Casada can be seen here presenting the toy to little Noemi Rodriguez Sanchez and her father Luis Alfredo Rodriguez Ruiz.
We would like to thank Store Manager Mark and his team for their kindness.
Another high note was being able to help a Camposol resident who urgently needed to return to the UK, but due to quarantine issues, together with currently no home there, was anxious to find a very good home for his much loved dog. Within a few days Digger, now known as Digzi, was given a magnificent, loving, permanent home with Tracy and Richard – new members to our Helping Hands team. Additionally we have two beautiful young dogs, brother and sister, who will be travelling to their new homes in the near future.
