Now we are into 2020 with much to do and in many ways we are pleased to go forward after some difficult times with our rescues.
Our little Frenchie cross Betty become very sick and was hospitalised for almost two weeks, but our amazing vets at Huercal Overa worked their magic to save her. Betty is still receiving treatment, but happily she is now at home with us.
Sadly we had to say goodbye to our big old mastin Teddy, a rescue from 2019. His quality of life became very poor and he was no longer mentally and physically able to cope. Rest in Peace Teddy.
A wonderful surprise for us came in January when we had a call from Annie Morton of the group Pilates for Charity. Helping Hands had been chosen by the group to receive funds raised by them which amounted to 530€. We are so very grateful for this donation which will certainly help us with our huge veterinary bills. Pilates for Charity is a wonderful idea and for those interested, the classes are at Mariano’s, Camposol A on Mondays. Mixed ability is at 10am and Gentle Pilates, seated and standing, (30 minute classes) are at 11am. For further information Annie can be contacted on 634 106 928 or by Messenger on Facebook.
Our event on 8th February at Mariano’s with Spain’s premier Eagles Tribute is gathering momentum with ticket sales doing really well.
Following that we are pleased to be featuring our Triple Tribute night on 7th March with ‘Simon & Garfunkel’, ‘Everly Brothers’ and ‘Showaddywaddy’ featuring top Benidorm artistes; again at Mariano’s.
More fundraising shows are already in place with ‘Abba Elite’, ‘Bruno Mars Experience’ and ‘George Michael’; all with top quality performers.
