Well here we are again, up and running with our much needed fundraising events for Helping Hands. The lockdown was extremely worrying, not just health-wise, but also due to closing our shop and halting all fundraising activities. For Helping Hands being such a small team and having no Foster Carers, this was even more difficult as lockdown did not deter the dumping of animals!
We were called to help with a young mum and her three pups who were living in a drain in the campo behind houses belonging to friends; one being Debbie Balser whom many of you will know and other friends, Jean and Peter. It took a few days to secure them and Jean took the decision to adopt one of the pups. The mum and remaining two pups, Angel Alfie & Annie, are now safe here with us and are being treated by our vet to bring them back to good health.
Ironically and very shortly afterwards, another young dog Bobby, covered in tics, was discovered living beside the roadside by Debbie and she flagged up to us for help. Little Bobby, approximately 1 year old, was treated for worms and tics and then brought to us. We are beginning his treatment and will then be looking for a loving home for him.
Sweet little boy, Rocky, was given up for adoption and already, with assistance from the wonderful Animal Hotel in Aguilas, will soon be travelling to his new home.
Another beautiful little girl Faith, was homed to a lovely lady Christine on Camposol and we are sure she will have a lovely, happy, forever home.
Huge thanks to Sue Pipe for the Charity Fun Quiz Night at The Diner which raised a fabulous and much needed 281€ for Helping Hands. Sue you are a Star!
We are now praying that things run smoothly. We have re-scheduled our events to entertain the wonderful people of Camposol. All events are top class and held at Meson Mariano. Weather permitting they will be held outside until October. Tickets can be purchased as usual from Mister Print on Camposol B, Mon, Wed & Fri 10am-2pm.
