Our game for August was on the 24th and was our second visit this year to the coastal golf resort of La Serena near Los Alcazares.
Hoping for a cool sea breeze to offset the extreme summer heat, 29 of our members set off to enjoy another day‘s golf with Fuente Old Guard. Despite the many water hazzards, Phil Leeming came in first overall with 35 points, which also gave him top spot in Division Two with Jim Niblo close behind scoring 34 points.
In Division One, Mick Shea took first place with 34 points, although the matter was decided on countback from Mick Daly who also scored 34 points.
In Division Three, Lawrence Willey was ahead of the rest for a second time with 33 points, followed in second place by Colin Worman with 29 points.
Nearest the Pins were won by Neil Macfarlane, Darren Morritt and Ian Murphy who all had a share of the 60€ two‘s pot along with Jim Niblo.
