Following our summer break from the extreme heat of the last few weeks Fuente Old Guard were eager to resume their fixture programme with a trip to the Lorca Golf Resort. After the heavy rain of the previous couple of days, August 31st turned out to be fine and sunny; ideal for our golf day.
Dave Griffiths made the most of the conditions coming in with a massive 40 points score to be in First Place Overall and also first in Division Two. Close behind in second place overall was Kevin Jones, with 39 points which in turn gave him top spot in Division One.
Second place prize in Division One went to Dave Simpson with a point score also of 39 which had meant a countback calculation to determine the winner.
Runner-Up in Division Two was Karen Jones with a well-earned 36 points off a handicap of just 20. Well done Karen!
Meanwhile, in Division Three, Gary McAteer took the top prize with a very creditable score of 34 points with Peter Kirke close behind with 33 points.
The Nearest the Pin prizes were sponsored by Colin May of J B Garage Doors and were won by Neil McFarlane, Dave Griffiths, Andy Paul, Ray Reynolds and Phil Leeming.
The Two’s Money Pot was equally shared by Derek Hayward, Gary McAteer, Maurice Nafzger and Neil McFarlane. Well done everyone.
