The Fuente Old Guard Golf Society competition for March was on the 30th. We went to Lorca Golf Resort and to our surprise we were virtually the only players on the course. The café bar was shut and coffee was only available from a vending machine, but the staff are always friendly and the course is in not-too-bad a condition so on with the golf.
Ken Blakeman, our Captain last year, had a great game in Division One scoring 38 points with Mick Daly close behind in this divison with 37 points.
In Division Two, Paul Western continued his impressive run of form, also scoring 38 points and was well ahead of Malcolm Archibald in second place with 31 points.
Laurence Willey was ahead of the rest in Division Three with 36 points, but only on countback from Dave Hall, also with 36 points making 13 players who scored 30 points or more.
Nearest the Pin Winners were Peter Allison, Roy Alderslade, Mark Palmer, Hans Hedendahl and Dave May with the Two‘s Money Pot equally shared between Gerry McRobert and Peter Allison.
Our next game is to Saurenes Del La Torre on Thursday May 25th.
