March was a very busy month for Fuente Old Guard with our inter-society matchplay against Aguilon G/S on 15th March and our monthly stapleford game which was on 25th March.
The matchplay was won, on this occasion, by the home side at Aguilon and we would like to thank Graeme Wilson at Avalon for their sponsorship of this event.
Our stapleford game on 25th March was to the very popular course of Altorreal near Murcia. The ever improving weather gave us warm and calm conditions for us to show the locals how the game should be played; none more so than Andy Paul who came in with 37 points to win overall and take top spot in Division Three. Runners-up overall were Gerry McRobert and Peter Hansford with 36 points, which also gave Peter second place in Divison Three. Gerry, meanwhile, was ahead of the rest in Division One with his 36 points score, closely followed by Kevin Jones and his 32 points score in second place. The Division Two prize winner was Phil Leeming with 33 points, followed by Allen Evans in second place with 32 points.
Nearest The Pin winners were Chris Morris, Allen Evans and Malcolm Archibald who also scooped the Two‘s Money pot.
Our next game is at Camposol on May 30th.
